A chore app for couples that shares the remembering too
The iOS app for households sharing the mental load: the invisible work of remembering what needs doing at home. Tasks, shopping and events synced in real time for up to six people.
This is the answer if you've searched for a chore app for couples, a housework app, or a shared chore tracker. Carry works for two people (or up to six) who want the remembering shared, not just the list. Read how to choose a chore-sharing app.
Who it's for
Households (usually couples) where one person remembers what needs doing. Up to six people, and it works solo until others join.
Couples where one person always remembers what needs doing. Carry is for sharing the noticing, not just the tasks.
Who it isn't for
Work project management, solo GTD / Todoist-style projects, or Android-only households.
Kids' reward charts, work projects, or Android households. Carry is iOS only for now.

How it works for two people
One shared home feed
Tasks, shopping and events sit in one feed, synced in real time. Neither of you has to ask what's outstanding — you can both look.
Chores, housework and the stuff nobody lists
Beyond the obvious chores: invisible jobs like "book the boiler service", "RSVP to the wedding", or "remember to take the bins out earlier this week because of the bank holiday".
Voice capture
Say what you noticed and Carry files it as a task, a shopping item or an event. Noticing something no longer means holding onto it until later.
Aging urgency colors
Items visibly age: Fresh (0–2 days), Warming (3–5), Warm (6–9), Urgent (10+). What's been waiting is obvious without either of you having to bring it up.
Compliments and a Weekly Wrap
When one of you finishes something, the other can send a compliment. The Weekly Wrap recaps what the two of you got through.
Chore app vs chore chart vs shared to-do list
A chore chart or shared note is free, needs no setup, and works fine for a fixed list of recurring tasks. What it doesn't hold is the one-off things someone has to notice first — which is most of the mental load.
| Compared on | Carry | A chore chart or shared note |
|---|---|---|
| Fixed, recurring chores | Yes, with whole-task ownership | Yes — this is what it's for |
| One-off things someone noticed | Add by voice or text, from any phone | Only if someone writes them up |
| Who noticed it needs doing | Activity log, Weekly Wrap, Mental Load Score | Not tracked |
| Shopping and events | In the same feed | Separate lists |
| Price | Free tier, then Carry Plus at $7.99/month, $29.99/year or $149.99 lifetime. Any plan covers the whole household. | Free |

Common questions
Is there a free chore app for couples?
Carry is free to download, with limits (10 open items, 5 shopping items, 2 household members, 5 voice captures). Most couples who share everything will want Carry Plus — one subscription covers both of you.
Does my partner have to pay too?
No. One person subscribes, and anyone who joins the household never pays and never sees a paywall.
Does it work if one of us is on Android?
Not yet. Carry is iOS only today. Android is planned.
Is this just a chore chart on my phone?
No. A chart tracks who did the task. Carry also tracks who noticed it needed doing, which is the part that usually lives in one head.
Can we use it for housework and the food shop as well?
Yes. Tasks, shopping (grouped by aisle) and events share one feed.
