A chore app for roommates and flatmates who are done with the group chat
The iOS app for households sharing the mental load: the invisible work of remembering what needs doing at home. Tasks, shopping and events synced in real time for up to six people.
Carry is for shared houses (up to six) where one person always knows what's running low or what needs doing. It's not a bill-splitting app, and it's iOS only — so check everyone's phone first. Read what to look for in a chore-sharing app.
Who it's for
Households (usually couples) where one person remembers what needs doing. Up to six people, and it works solo until others join.
Shared houses of 3 to 6 people, all on iPhone, who want chores, the cleaning rota and the shopping list in one place.
Who it isn't for
Work project management, solo GTD / Todoist-style projects, or Android-only households.
Mixed iPhone/Android houses, or anyone looking for a bill-splitting app — Carry doesn't do that.

How it works for a shared house
Chores, the cleaning rota and the shared shopping list in one place
Tasks, shopping (grouped by aisle) and house events sit in one shared feed, synced in real time to up to six people.
Fair without a leaderboard
Whole-task ownership and visible "waiting" items instead of points. The activity log and Weekly Wrap show what got done, without turning it into a scoreboard.
A 6-character invite
One person sets up the household and shares a 6-character code. Everyone who joins gets the same feed.
One subscription covers the household
One person subscribes and everyone in the house gets Carry Plus. Joiners never pay and never see a paywall.
Carry or the group chat?
A group chat or shared note is free, needs no setup, and fine for a short list. Carry is for when the list has become a job one person is doing.
| Compared on | Carry | A group chat or shared note |
|---|---|---|
| Adding something | Type it or say it — voice capture files it as a task, shopping item or event | Type it into the chat or note |
| Seeing what's outstanding | One home feed, synced in real time | Scroll back and piece it together |
| Seeing what's been waiting | Items age from Fresh to Urgent | Nothing marks it |
| Shopping | Aisle-grouped shopping list | A separate list or thread |
| Price | Free tier, then Carry Plus at $7.99/month, $29.99/year or $149.99 lifetime. Any plan covers the whole household. | Free |

Common questions
Is there a free roommate chore app?
Carry's free tier allows 2 household members, so a house of three or more needs Carry Plus. One purchase covers everyone.
How many people can join?
Up to six.
Does it work with Android?
Not yet. Carry is iOS only today. Android is planned.
Can we keep a shared shopping list for the house?
Yes, grouped by aisle.
What if someone moves out?
The person who's leaving can leave the household in the app's settings. If they were the subscriber, the remaining members drop to the free tier.
